FLOOR manager

Job Duties

  • Running daily shift operations for 5 shifts/week. This includes, but is not limited to: Ensuring staff is on time, handling call outs, setting drawers, running pre shift meetings, running through opening, closing, and weekly checklists, handling patron feedback, closing drawers, running end of shift reports, sending nightly emails. 

  • Interact with patrons and employees in a gracious, friendly, and patient manner, with a helpful attitude.

  • Provide professional development and training to FOH staff. This includes but is not limited to: training hosts and barbacks on bartending, training bartenders on best practices, learning about beer and learning basic ASL and assisting the staff in doing so as well 

  • Assist with creating or enforcing standards and controls to continually maintain high levels of service and profitability.

  • Manage staff performance in accordance with established standards and procedures.

  • Ensure staff know and adhere to established codes of practice set in the employee handbook and training manuals.

  • Address and properly manage any conflicts that may come about or escalate as needed.

  • Maintain high standards of food safety, and hygiene standards within the taproom and other areas.

  • Ensure that alcohol and food related regulations are adhered to at all times. 

  • Ensure cash management procedures are completely accurate and secure.

  • Updating draft beer menus to ensure accuracy

  • Be a brand ambassador and potentially represent Red Bear at festivals and local events.

  • Any other assigned tasks.


  • Minimum 1 year experience in restaurant or beverage management required.

  • Strong computer skills including Word, Excel, and Google docs/sheets, and “When I Work” (or similar electronic scheduling software)

  • Ability to work efficiently and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

  • Have an active ABC Manager’s License and DOH CFPM ID card and maintain them.

  • Excellent People management skills and ability to direct and lead a team.

  • Ability to troubleshoot problems as they occur, and conflict resolution skills.

  • Passion for craft beer with an experienced palate and sensory evaluation skills.

  • Strong leadership, communication, time management and organizational skills

  • Flexible schedule with availability on nights and weekends.

  • Strong knowledge of food and beverage laws and regulations, enforcing and adhering to TIPS serving techniques.

  • Completion of the Certified Cicerone Beer Server exam within 60 days of employment.

  • The ability to lift up to 50 lbs multiple times throughout a work shift.

  • Ability to stand in one place for extended periods of time.

  • Commitment to learning basic American Sign Language (ASL)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) is sought after.

  • Previous back-end experience with restaurant point-of-sale software


  • Salary Position with 42-48 Hrs/week expected.

  • Competitive salary based on experience ($42,000 - $49,000)
