We have all asked and been asked that age-old question before: “What should we do tonight?” Staying in is certainly the cheapest and simplest option, but it is also often the least interesting one as well, and it is also one that does not give you the opportunity to get out in the District, hang out with friends, and enjoy some craft brews while unwinding after a hard day’s work—or, alternatively, a hard day’s rest on a weekend, break, or vacation.
Whatever you are looking for from a night out on the town, Red Bear Brewing has you covered with our expansive lineup of craft beers, delicious food, and board games—and of course, with our packed social calendar as well. Here is just a taste of the events we have coming up, all of which we would be happy to host you, your family, your friends, or even folks you just met.
Trivia Events
Can you even call yourself a brewery if you do not have a trivia night? At Red Bear Brewing, we do not have to ask ourselves that question because pub trivia is a weekly tradition for us, and we would not give up that tradition for the world.
We do not just limit ourselves to one of those games a week, either. Here are just some of the games we have hosted in the past and will continue to host in the future.
Since its founding in 2010, District Trivia has grown to become the DMV’s largest pub trivia business, hosting weekly rounds at dozens of bars, breweries, and beer halls across northern Virginia, Maryland, and, of course, Washington, D.C. If you want to see what all the fuss is about yourself, swing by Mondays at 7 PM to show off your knowledge and compete for prizes.
With Quiz Masters William, Neil, and DJ as emcees, you can try to get every question right at our in-house pub trivia night. Games start every Wednesday night at 7 PM, are always free to play through mobile devices, and are one of the biggest reasons we were ranked by the Washington City Paper as the Best Trivia Bar in the District in 2021.
As part of our mission to be welcoming and inclusive to everyone in D.C., we are proud to be the only bar in the District that hosts a trivia night performed in American Sign Language (ASL), with English interpretation included as well. This event typically runs on a monthly basis, so check our calendar page for the most up-to-date info about this event.
Watch Parties
TV shows and sports are always more fun to watch with friends, and especially with friends inside a big crowd of fellow fans cheering alongside you. Add our giant projection screen and some of the District’s most delicious craft beers to the mix, and you have all the ingredients you need for a great night out!
Washington Nationals Games
From Opening Day in March to the dog days of September and (hopefully) beyond, Red Bear Brewing will be your one-stop shop for beers, bunts, and all other things baseball. Stop by for an inning or two or stay all the way to the final pitch—either way, we will keep pouring, and you will not have to pay for parking at Navy Yard. N-A-T-S, Nats, Nats, Nats, Woo!
Washington Capitals Games
It is a great time to be a sports fan in D.C., and one of the biggest reasons for that are our 2018 Stanley Cup Champions-in-residence. When the season’s in full swing, you can catch every puck drop, check, and goal from a comfortable seat in our taproom. Let’s Go Caps!
RuPaul’s Drag Race Watch Parties
You know it, we all love it, and when new episodes release, we will have them on the big screen here. We also have special events planned on certain dates with hosting from local drag queens and organizations like the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, so there is no reason not to come out and have a good time with us on Friday nights at 8 PM.
